There are several ways to find cooling centers in Michigan, especially during periods of extreme heat: 1. Call 2-1-1: 2-1-1 is a statewide service that can connect you to community assistance, including information about cooling centers near you. You can call 211 or 1-866-698-6155, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can also text your zip code to 898211 (TXT211) during business hours (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm) or email help@211info.org during business hours. 2. Check Local Resources: Visit the Michigan 2-1-1 website and search for "Extreme Heat Cooling Programs". MI211.org Check local news sources for information about temporarily opened cooling centers during heat waves.
